John is the pioneer in establishing best practices and setting trends for marketing and selling workforce business services. His presentations have forever changed how workforce staffs view their roles and communicate their message to the business community.  
  • In 1978 John began consulting for private companies. He was soon sought by workforce leaders to adopt private sector marketing and sales practices into the social service culture. Still working with many of the world’s leading service sales and marketing divisions of international companies, John continues to transfer those best practices into the workforce industry. He’s worked with over ten thousand employment and training managers, staff, and board members throughout the country focusing on marketing, sales, and sales management. He is the expert of “Consultative Selling, Partnership and Team Selling, and Selling the Value of Workforce Solutions.” And to insure implementation and sustainability, John presents “Managing Business Service Sales.”
    In addition to managing his own consulting company based in Vancouver, WA, John is Director of Training for Hahn Consulting, the world-class international technology services marketing and sales company. John is responsible for training development and customization for each client. He has personally trained over twelve thousand individuals world-wide in companies such as: Motorola, Intel, Compaq, Cisco Systems, Hewlett Packard Medical, Oracle, Sony, Agilent Technologies, Tektronix, and Hitachi. John helps product oriented companies sell their intangible services with emphasis on understanding and communicating the value of their services.  
    John assists companies with strategic and long range planning and organizational development. As a management consultant his northwest clients include: Southwest Washington Medical Center, The Columbian Newspaper, the Bank Administration Institute, the Mayor's Offices of Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington; Bonneville Power, the Clark County Board of Commissioners, Portland Veterans’ Affairs Medical Center, Christensen Yachts, and Nike.
    In his 20s, John alternated college studies with playing professional baseball in the Milwaukee Braves Baseball Organization. A graduate of the University of Rhode Island, John earned a M.S. degree at Western Michigan University and was a graduate fellow with the C.S. Mott Foundation, Flint, Michigan. For ten years prior to consulting, he was a public school principal assigned as a turnaround specialist to transform under-performing schools into model schools. He continues to incorporate personal motivational and productivity concepts into his corporate consulting. John was a founding member for the area’s Boys and Girls Clubs and the Tennis Center Foundation.
